Wayne Pitman was born in Claresholm, Alberta, a little town outside of Calgary.
In 1975, he joined the militia, 84th Independent Field Battery, Royal Canadian Artillery (RCA) where he completed a Summer Student Employment Program and winning the Top Pay Level 3 award.
In March 1976, Wayne joined the Canadian Armed Forces where he proudly served his country for the next 30 years, retiring in 2006. His career provided him with the opportunity to serve with all three elements (Army, Navy, and Air Forces) in the Logistic Field as a Supply Technician. During his time in the military, he served with the following: Supply at 403/422 Tactical Squadron CFB Gagetown N.B, Argus/Aurora Supply CFB Greenwood N.S, Operations Officer in the Supply Operations Cell and Base Supply Clothing stores in CFB Halifax N.S. Two tours in CFB Shearwater N.S, at Sea King Supply once as the Senior Logistician for Air Command, CF18 Supply and Procurement Cell in CFB Cold Lake Alberta, G6 Headquarter staff in 37 Canadian Brigade Group N.B. HMCS Huron (his first ship ever), HMCS St. John’s, and two tours on HMCS Montréal.
During his time in the Canadian Armed Forces, Wayne was deployed to several operations abroad such as Haitian uprising in 1994, twice to the Persian Gulf, United Arab Emirates as the Operations Officer and Coxswain for the Forward Logistic Site in support of Naval Operations.
Wayne was awarded the Queens Diamond Jubilee for his volunteer work with the Veterans UN-NATO Canada Group.
He currently manages a warehouses in Burnside Industrial Park.
